Instructor & Guide

Bruce Wilks

I sparked my passion for fishing at 5 years old using a cane pole cut from the river banks, catching catfish, bluegill, sunfish and bass on a hook & nightcrawler. Progressed to spin casting, open face spinning reels and bait cast rods and reels, fishing all waters for all species including years of competing in bass tournaments.

I purchased my first fly rod and reel in 1997 and have 23 years of experience fly fishing the Central Texas Hill Country Rivers & streams, along with shallow water Gulf Coast coastal flats.

I continued my fly fishing adventures traveling across many states. Along the way, I had the opportunity to meet, learn from and teach many people, having discovered a true passion to teach others the necessary skills, knowledge, enjoyment and being In The Flow while fly fishing.

Member of the flowing fly fishing organizations: Texas Freshwater Fishing Guides license, The American Fly Fishing Trade Association (AFFTA), Guadalupe River Trout Unlimited (GRTU) Fly Fishers International (FFI), Multiple Area Fly Fishing Clubs.

“Fly fishing is a lifelong activity of continued learning while being fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement and enjoyment while doing it, resulting in a loss of one’s sense of space and time.”

In other words being In The Flow!
